What is Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy (PT) is prescribed by a licensed physician or physician assistant to restore function (strength, balance, mobility, etc.) to an area that has been compromised by injury disease, surgery or the aging process. We use therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques and other modality treatments to reduce pain and inflammation and begin the physical reconditioning process.

How much time will it take?
This depends on your problem(s), including severity and complexity, and other factors such as your medical status and age. Patients with high motivation levels and better compliance improve faster than those who are less inclined.

How long is a therapy visit or session?
On average, our patients will take anywhere from 1-2 hours per session. We do not rush you in and out. We have more treatment options available at QPT than any other facility including warm water pool therapy, a sophisticated balance testing apparatus, 3-dimensional force plate measures for gait analysis, muscle/tendon imaging technology, dedicated pain therapies (TENS, MENS, PENS), and a dazzling array of exercise formats.

What is different about QPT Centers?
We use a proprietary blending of orthopedic physical therapy with pain/wellness and alternative physical therapy techniques. Our director is (AAPM) board certified in pain management and has managed a very large hospital-based pain center in the past. He brings to our facilities a unique perspective rarely seen in conventional PT centers. We not only make you faster, stronger, better--we also know how to diminish your pain without drugs, injections or surgery. As well, with minimal cost to you, we help facilitate other health issues such as smoking and weight problems with our wellness package, courtesy of QPT. We help guide your decision making in these areas and also include complimentary body composition analysis so you can get an objective measure of body fat loss--one of the byproducts of having therapy at our center.

What insurances do you accept?
We are in-network with hundreds of insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Priority Health and BCN. We also have a self-pay option for those who are uninsured. Please call us for details and to confirm your coverage.

What type of therapies do you perform at Quantum Physical Therapy Centers?
You may have heard other Physical Therapy facilities define themselves as "hands on" or "manual therapists" with some companies even offering guarantees. At QPT we customize each treatment plan to the individual and combine many forms of treatment into your plan including exercise, manual therapies such as joint mobilizations, trigger point and positional release techniques combined with our wide array of advanced pain therapy techniques including needle accupuncture. (These are only a few, so please refer to our Procedures page for a more detailed list.) But again, this is the advantage of having a multi-dimensional approach to therapy treatment, having more options to choose from. Regarding "guarantee claims" you might hear--unfortunately, even rehabilitation services can become commercialized. Guarantees are best left to be offered by muffler companies, not clinicians. Our promise to you is that we will strive to see that you attain the highest level of function in the shortest amount of time, and at the same time, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction in your care plan. That’s our promise to you!

We do not characterize our service delivery by a singular method--this is guruism. Our therapists use a multi-dimensional or integrated approach to treatment. The reason for this is simple--no one manual method has demonstrated to be vastly superior to any of the others--that's why there are over 250 forms of manual therapies in existence and being practiced today. Our position is that all have some degree of validity when applied judiciously. It is the clinical acumen of the practitioner that drives the treatment, not the method. At QPT we pride ourselves in having the mindset to combine the latest form of treatments with our training, mentorships and experience allowing us to treat virtually any problem we encounter.

Our promise is that you, the patient, will attain the higest possible level of function within the shortest amount of time while yielding the highest level of satisfaction. This is how we define "quality of care".
